In the year 2597 the conglomerate megacorporation KumiCo™ completed their terraforming project of the planet Venus. In the rush of settlement, the corporation seized the planet’s lush highlands, leaving the low wastes to whichever adventurers, prospectors, or vagabonds wanted it. In the subsequent battles for the scrub, petty warlords have emerged, vying with one another for power disguised as freedom. In the corporation’s eyes, it is in their best interest to let these warlords kill each other off before claiming the lowlands for themselves. Our story focuses on one unlikely villain, and four even more unlikely heroes who are serving in one of these armies: Lieutenant Kate Burski, Sergeant Jupiter Rawlins, Corporal Lucy Zhang, Private Caesar Pava, and Private Phil Simard.
